5 Healthy Habits
1.) Eat well and ignore your cravings for junk. I have a major sweet tooth, but I’ve been ignoring it by only eating at mealtimes and allowing myself to grow hungry leading up to meals.
2.) Get good sleep. As someone who easily falls into the habit of staying up late and waking up late, I can confidently say that I feel so much better when I get to bed at a reasonable hour and wake up before 8:00am.
3.) Manage anxiety. A couple methods I’ve found useful in managing my own anxiety is to try and view situations from an objective, third party point of view, and/or to address whatever’s making me anxious.
4.) Become detail-oriented. Do the small things correctly and the bigger picture will come together. This is a lesson I’ve heard countless times in sports, and it applies to life. Attention to detail not only translates to efficiency on the field, but also in the workplace (if you’re employed) and in the classroom (if you’re a student).
5.) Set goals. Reaching even small daily or weekly goals go a long way in feeling accomplished and productive. As a student who is constantly distracted by sports and athletics, setting daily and weekly goals has been game changing in helping me get my work done in a quality way each week.
